In February 2015 I attended a consultation at the London School of Theology. The title for our gathering was Worship: Theology, Practice & Training – focusing on the future of musical worship in the UK. We were joined by Dr. John Witvliet of the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship in Grand Rapids. I have met John many times at the Institute – he is a great thinker and communicator and is able to engage academics and lay people like me, alike. It was a rare opportunity for gathering and reflection with those from across a wide variety of parts of the Church. We shared and learned much from each other. I hope there will be further opportunities for such depth of broad ecumenical encounter.
